More Than Realtors®--
Long Island Board of Realtors Launch Campaign To Support Community Organizations
October 2006 - West Babylon, NY -With the theme “We’re
More Than Realtors® , the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR) Public
Relations Committee launched their 2006 campaign to expand upon LIBOR’s
long standing commitment toward supporting the work of Long Island’s
charitable organizations. The non-profit trade association with more than
28,000 members is the largest local Realtor® board in the country.
The Huntington Township Chapter of LIBOR has set the tone and is supporting
this year’s campaign by raising more than $22,000 for the Women’s
Heart Program at Huntington Hospital. According to Mary Fudens, President
of the Huntington Chapter of LIBOR, “Our local chapter is committed
to assisting our community by supporting a wide range of not-for-profit
organizations that meet the needs of our diverse population in Huntington
Township.”
As part of their commitment to support the local Women’s Heart
Program at Huntington Hospital, the Huntington Chapter of LIBOR attended
the 2006 Long Island Fall Festival at Heckscher Park in Huntington Village
on October 6-9. Huntington chapter members worked extremely hard to sell
raffle tickets to support the Women’s Heart Program and to distribute
information about the local LIBOR Chapter’s activities to promote
our local not-for-profit organizations. Among the prizes offered to visitors
of the Fall Festival were :
Dinner for four at Indigo Restaurant
Dinner for two at Osteria Da Nino
Apple IPOD
This spectacular Fall Festival featured fun-filled festivities for the
whole family with hundreds of attractions, global cuisine, a world-class
carnival and over 200 exciting, live performances. The Long Island Fall
Festival is the largest event of its kind in the tri-state area, hosting
over 250,000 visitors. It was a great opportunity for Realtors® to
introduce the community to who they are and the great work they are involved
with.
“We’re very proud of the work of the Huntington Township
Chapter,” said LIBOR President Gil Picard. “The Chapter is
setting the tone for an ambitious new campaign to support not-for-profit
organizations in the Huntington community which benefit so many local
residents,” added Picard. “This campaign and the work of all
of our LIBOR Chapters illustrate why ‘We’re More Than Realtors®’,”
said Picard.
