New York 30 - Hour Remedial Qualifying Course
The 30 hour Salesperson's Qualifying course is now being offered through the Long Island Board of REALTORSĀ®.
Who is required to take the 30 Hour Remedial Gap Course?
If you completed the 45 Hour Sales Qualifying Course PRIOR to July 1, 2008 and DID NOT apply for your real estate license on or before June 30, 2008, you will need to complete the 30 Hour Remedial Gap Licensing Course before submitting your license application to the Department of State.
Why is the 30 Hour Remedial Gap Course Needed?
New York State passed a law increasing the education requirement for a salesperson's license from a 45 hour course to a 75 hour course, effective July 1, 2008. The 30 Hour Remedial Gap Course is necessary to "bridge the gap" to meet the new 75 hour course requirement needed as of July 1, 2008. This course will satisfy the additional 30 hours now needed to apply for a NYS real estate license.
This course is also required for those licensed as a NYS real estate salesperson and obtained that license prior to July 1, 2008 and now want to become a broker or associate broker. This course is required in order to meet the new 75 hour salespersons course requirement. In addition, you will need to take the 45 Hour Broker Qualifying Course.
No state exam is given for the 30 Hour Remedial Gap Course, however, students must pass a in-person proctored classroom exam.
Those passing the exam will earn 22.5 NYS continuing education credits as well.
For your convenience the Salesperson's Qualifying course is being offered in house as well as on-line.
Instructor support and guidance is available whether you take the course online or in the Classroom.
