LIBOR Names REALTORS® of the Year
Neil Sterrer and Marilyn Urso
December 15,
2003 - West Babylon, NY - The Long Island Board of Realtors,
Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that local Realtor® Neil
Sterrer of Long Beach has been named the recipient of the LIBOR 2003 Realtor-Broker
of the Year award. Marilyn Urso of Syosset has been awarded the LIBOR
2003 Realtor-Salesperson of the Year. The announcements were made recently
at the association’s Annual Installation & Awards Dinner
held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Neil Sterrer, (on left) Broker/owner of Sterrer Realty in Long Beach,
joined LIBOR in 1981. He has served as a LIBOR Director since 1990
and has been on the Nassau South Shore Chapter Board of Directors since
1991. Neil has proudly been a member of the NAR Realtors Honor Society
since 1990.
In addition to his service to the Board and the Multiple Listing Service
of Long Island, Inc. (MLSLI) Neil is very active in his community.
He is a member of the Long Beach/Island Park Brokers Council and the
Long Beach Historical and Preservation Society.
Marilyn Urso, (on left) Broker/co-owner of Long Island Village Realty
in Syosset has been involved with the Board in a number of leadership
capacities. She has served on a range of committees for both LIBOR
and MLSLI over the years. Marilyn’s primary focus has been on
the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) where she currently serves
as President. She has held the position of Membership Vice President
in 2000 and 2001 and as President-Elect in 2002. She also served as
New York State (NYS) WCR Treasurer in 2002 and on National WCR Committees
since 1998. In 2004, she will hold the distinguished National position
of Governor for NYS and sit on the National WCR Board of Directors.
Marilyn is very community minded and has volunteered her time to many
organizations and groups including local PTA, Scouting and athletic
organizations. She is active in the Syosset Chamber of Commerce, where
she has served as a member of the Board of Directors.
