Realtor® Frank Urso Receives 2004 LIBOR
Community Service Award

December 7, 2004 - West Babylon, NY - “An honor,” is often used to describe how the recipient of an award feels about being recognized. However, in this instance, the honor is truly felt by The Long Island Board of Realtors, Inc. (LIBOR) who presented Realtor® Frank Urso with the 2004 LIBOR Community Service Award. The announcement was made recently during the LIBOR/MLSLI Annual Installation and Recognition Award Gala.

Frank joined LIBOR in 1993 and is the broker owner of Long Island Village Realty in Syosset. He has been active in the Syosset area for more than 15 years.

He has been involved as a volunteer on various LIBOR and the MLS of Long Island committees, as well as the Nassau North Shore Chapter where he served as chapter president and still serves on the chapter board of directors. He is also a member of the Long Island chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors. In 2002, Frank was the recipient of LIBOR’s prestigious “Realtor-Broker of the Year” award.

Frank has served on the LIBOR Member Services Committee since 1997 and also serves on both the LIBOR & MLS Boards of Directors since 1999. He has earned the prestigious CRB and CRS realtor designations through LIBOR as well as the GRI, SRES and REP designations.

He is also very involved in community service. He received the “Outstanding Leadership” award and a citation for Outstanding Service in 2001 from the Syosset Chamber of Commerce and Small Business Person of the Year from the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce in 2000. In 2001, he also received the Teddy Roosevelt Achievement Award presented by the Syosset-Woodbury Republican Club. Frank is the founder and was the first president of the Syosset Chamber of Commerce and he continues to serve as a director in that organization giving his time & energy to help improve the community that has supported his business over the years.
