Queens Realtors® Assist
in Building Effort of Habitat Home
July 27, 2005 - West Babylon, NY - The Long Island
Board of Realtors®,
Inc. (LIBOR) a 24,000 member, not for profit trade association made
up of real estate professionals in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens, has
proudly co-sponsored together with the New York State Association of
Realtors®, the building of a Habitat for Humanity house.
The Habitat for Humanity house that Realtors® are constructing
is located on Leaf Avenue in Central Islip. With approximately one-third
of its membership working in Queens County, LIBOR designated July 21st
as Queens Realtor® Volunteer Build Day, which would give Queens
Realtors® the chance to be involved in this project located two
counties East of them. Marian Fraker-Gutin, LIBOR President said “When
LIBOR decided to sponsor another Habitat House this year, our members
in Queens told us they wanted to take an active part in the building
process. Even though they live miles away from the work site, they
made the effort to be there.”
Volunteers are an integral part of every aspect of Habitat's work.
Buddy Hoosein, LIBOR Queens Vice President said, “As we work
together this summer to build this home, we will do much more than
build a house, we will continue to make homeownership a reality for
many families on Long Island.” Hoosein further noted, “Every
day that one of our Realtors® comes to this site, no matter what
county they are from, we are showing through our actions what we hold
true in our hearts: Everyone deserves to have a clean, safe & habitable
place to live.”
