LIBOR Names 2012 REALTOR® - Broker of the Year Buddy Hoosein

December 5, 2012 - West Babylon, NY -  The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that REALTOR® Buddy Hoosein, of Wally Realty in Queens, has been named the recipient of the prestigious REALTOR®-Broker of the Year award. The announcement was made recently at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Buddy Hoosein began his real estate career, simultaneously becoming a member of LIBOR in the spring of 1984 as a sales associate with Century 21 Latino in Jamaica, Queens.

In 1985, he left to manage Buckingham Realty.  In 1986 his passion for knowledge drove him to earn the Real Estate Broker license and he became a Certified Appraiser with NYSSREA.  He also became a mortgage broker with the NYS Banking Department which gave him the opportunity to place loans with CitiBank Power Broker Program and Green Point Savings Advantage Program.

In 1987, he ventured out on his own to open Wally Realty in Hollis, Queens as a Broker/Owner.  Buddy served LIBOR’s Jamaica Central Queens Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President. During this time he has served on several LIBOR and MLSLI committees.  He served as LIBOR’s Vice President of Queens for three consecutive years: 2005, 2006 and 2007.  His unique leadership on the county level and his dedication to the members earned him the distinct privilege of the nomination for LIBOR President-Elect in 2008, serving as President in 2009.

Buddy is a NYS Certified Real Estate Instructor since 1997 and earned his CBR, ABR and SRES real estate designations.

On the state level, Buddy serves as a NYSAR Director since 2005 and is a member of the State Professional Standards, Education and Legislative Committees.  He is also a NAR Director and serves on the Federal Housing Policy Committee.

His involvement in Public Relations and the community earned him the prestigious NYS citation for district 31 in 2006, the NY City Council citation in 2007, the NYS Assembly citation in 2008 and a member of the New York State Senate Business Forum.

Before his real estate career, Buddy was a Registered Nurse and was awarded a scholarship for pharmacology.  He practiced nursing in NYC working with Beekman Downtown Hospital and many other NYC hospitals specializing in neurosurgery and critical care.  His compassion for his fellow human being and the ultimate gratification he seeks, he found in his real estate profession.

Buddy resides in Elmont with his wife Bibi.  He continues to have a very special relationship with his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, his many nieces, nephews, grand nephews and his extended Realtor® family.
