In recent years, he served as PTA Vice President of PS98 in Douglaston and as a volunteer for the Little Neck/Douglaston Memorial Day Parade.  He is a licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister with Douglaston Zion Episcopal Church.

His recent appointment on Community Board 11 has already proved a success, with an installation of a stop sign near the Douglaston railroad station.  Douglas was involved with the launching of the Douglaston Green Market which has shown a surge in small business in the Douglaston area.

Recently, Douglas’s HOME NY office has been involved with collecting and delivering donations for victims of Hurricane Sandy to the south shore of Queens and Long Island, he also cooked for the volunteers.

Douglas, his wife, Jacqueline and two sons Terryl and Pierce live in Douglas Manor in Northeast Queens.  Since moving there 8 years ago, Douglas has become a valuable and visible member of the community and his involvement has brought so many great contributions to the neighborhood.
