Long Island Housing Services, Inc., will provide a training on Fair Housing laws under New York State Human Rights Law.  

This training will include information on:

• The different types of prohibited housing discrimination, including:
  • Having minor children in the household
  • Source of income
  • Certain convictions and arrest histories
  • Disability and support animals
  • Citizenship and immigration status
• Best practices for landlords on assessing applicant’s credit and criminal legal system backgrounds – based on New York Homes and Community Renewal policies
• New York State Clean Slate Act

Registration opens at 9:30 am, program to begin at 10am.
