LIBOR’s REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors!

Sep 14, 2021

NAR's REALTORS® are Good Neighbors Program celebrates members who make an extraordinary commitment to giving back by volunteering in their communities. During the national week of REALTOR® Volunteering (September 28 – October 3), Long Island Board of REALTORS® encourages our members to partake in Trash Treks to help clean up your local community!

How it Works:

  1. Select a neighborhood, park, street, beach, etc. in need of some trash pickup!

  2. Grab a bag(s). We suggest a reusable bag, but whatever you have to collect trash works for us!

  3. Begin your trek collecting trash.

  4. Take selfies along the way and post your trek. (Don’t forget the #LIBORtrashtrek so we can share your photos, or email your photos to pr@lirealtor.com!)

  5. Deposit bag(s) in an assigned trash and/or recycling repository.

  6. Log your time at nar.realtor/rgn (include hours volunteered and how many bags of trash collected throughout the week.) REALTORS® who track/submit their time are entered into monthly $1,000 drawings for charity.

Together, we can make a real difference as we serve our neighbors and strengthen our communities!

Considerations:
We encourage our members to partake in this activity as a safe, individual sport if physically able. Those partaking are advised to follow the current CDC guidelines for outdoor activities (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/outdoor-activities.html), which include considering wearing a mask if you anticipate being near any crowded outdoor settings or in close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated.
