Diamond designation recognizes sustained excellence in international real estate, global business development, and member engagement
The Global Business Committee of Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) has earned the prestigious Diamond Global Achievement Award from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the highest recognition bestowed through NAR’s Global Achievement Program. This distinguished honor recognizes LIBOR’s sustained commitment to expanding international real estate opportunities, strengthening cross-border business relationships, and preparing members to succeed in an increasingly global marketplace.
Among more than 130 global business councils nationwide, LIBOR’s Diamond designation reflects years of consistent achievement and leadership in global real estate. To qualify, councils must earn Platinum status for five consecutive years before applying for Diamond recognition in their sixth year while continuing to meet all Platinum-level criteria. Following five consecutive Platinum Global Achievement Awards, this milestone represents a significant accomplishment for LIBOR and its Global Business Committee.
“This achievement is the culmination of many years of hard work, dedication, and a shared commitment to expanding global opportunities for our members,” said Shaan Khan, President of LIBOR. “Our Global Business Committee has built a strong foundation through education, international relationships and meaningful business connections that help REALTORS® recognize and pursue opportunities beyond their local markets. Earning NAR’s highest Global Achievement Award is a testament to the commitment of our committee, staff, and members who continue to strengthen LIBOR’s presence in the global real estate community.”
Throughout 2026, LIBOR’s Global Business Committee continued to expand its programming, educational offerings, and international connections, creating practical opportunities for members to incorporate global real estate into their businesses.
Each March, LIBOR celebrates Global Success Month, a monthlong initiative that brings international real estate education, market insights, and business opportunities to members through programming, research, and resources. The initiative features the signature Global Experience, webinars, and professional development opportunities, including the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Institute. For the past two years, LIBOR has offered all four CIPS elective courses, giving members an accessible path toward earning the internationally recognized designation. In 2026, LIBOR also expanded its reach by incorporating an international property segment into the Commercial Committee’s Queens Commercial Deal Exchange, introducing commercial practitioners to international investment opportunities.
LIBOR further strengthened members’ global knowledge and professional networks through an outbound trade mission to Portugal and Spain in May and June. The delegation of 12 participants met with international real estate professionals, explored local markets and investment opportunities, toured properties, and built relationships to support future referrals and cross-border business. In Barcelona, the delegation attended Inmociónate 2026, participating in educational sessions and networking opportunities with real estate professionals and industry leaders. The trip also reinforced LIBOR’s longstanding relationship with SIRA, NAR’s bilateral partner in Spain.
The Committee’s Going Global webinar series continued to connect members with international expertise, featuring insights into real estate markets in China, Brazil, Portugal, and Malaysia. LIBOR also hosted its annual Lunar New Year Celebration, welcoming approximately 200 attendees for an opportunity to recognize cultural traditions and strengthen connections across the global real estate community.
International relationships remain central to LIBOR Global’s work. LIBOR continues to build and maintain a broad international network with 45 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with real estate associations in 33 countries. Its annual invitation-only MOU Partner Breakfast and Signing Reception, held during NAR NXT, brings international association leaders and LIBOR leadership together to strengthen existing relationships, discuss opportunities for future engagement, and establish connections that can lead to new business opportunities for members.
The Diamond Global Achievement Award will be formally acknowledged at NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience, in New Orleans, Louisiana, during the International Reception and Awards Ceremony on November 7, 2026.
Looking ahead, LIBOR will continue to expand international education, strengthen relationships with global real estate organizations, and connect members with opportunities in markets around the world. On November 12, 2026, LIBOR, alongside the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) and Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® (HGAR), will co-host the 20th Annual Global Real Estate Summit NYC at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. Returning with a new format and Manhattan location, the Summit will bring together global real estate professionals to explore emerging trends, build connections, and identify opportunities in international business.
