REALTORS® Meet with NYC Council Member Schulman on Broker Fees Legislation

Last week, REALTORS® from the Long Island Board of REALTORS®, along with NYSAR, REBNY, and LIBOR government affairs staff, met with New York City Council Member Lynn Schulman (D-Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, Richmond Hill) to discuss our opposition to broker fee legislation ( Int. 1105). This bill, sponsored by New York City Council Member Chi Ossé (D-Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights) would prohibit the collection of broker fees from a tenant to pay a landlord’s agent. Council Member Schulman was very receptive and LIBOR’s government affairs teams remain committed to working with NYSAR, REBNY, and coalition allies to continue a productive dialogue on a key subject to our members.
