Feb 14, 2024

“Local 32BJ is positioning itself as the bridge between the governor and the Legislature in an effort to secure a deal on housing,” reported Spectrum News NY1. “Its leaders are building a coalition of unions that could be the extra push needed to finally break the gridlock in Albany.” Meanwhile, “the amount of available apartments across the five boroughs dropped to a low rate not seen in more than five decades, according to the NYC Housing and Vacancy Survey. The report, done on average every three or so years, found the vacancy rate in the city had dropped down to 1.4%,” a rate not seen since the 1960s.
