77 - Hour Salesperson Qualifying Course

The 77 hour Salesperson Qualifying course is now being offered through Long Island Board of REALTORS®.

NYS Requirements for Licensing as a Real Estate Salesperson

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time you apply
  • Have a current NYS photo driver’s license or non-driver ID card
  • Successfully complete a Department of State approved 77-hour qualifying course. If you have completed the 75-hour salesperson qualifying course, you may complete a two-hour continuing education course on fair housing and/or implicit bias to qualify for licensure. If you have completed the 45-hour salesperson qualifying course prior to July 1, 2008, you may complete the 30- hour remedial course and two-hour continuing education course of fair housing and/or implicit bias in order to qualify for licensure.
  • Have a sponsoring NYS licensed real estate broker
  • Pass the NYS real estate salesperson examination
