March marks Global Success Month, and Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) is proud to spotlight the many global initiatives available to our members. Throughout the month, LIBOR—alongside REALTOR® associations nationwide—will highlight global committees and councils while sharing insights, strategies, and tools designed to help REALTORS® expand their business beyond local borders.
In today’s interconnected marketplace, global business is no longer optional; it is an essential part of the real estate landscape. Whether assisting international buyers purchasing property on Long Island or building referral relationships abroad, REALTORS® must be prepared to navigate cross-border opportunities with confidence and expertise.
A centerpiece of Global Success Month is LIBOR’s new Global Experience on March 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM at World’s Fair Marina Banquet in Corona, NY. What began as a Global Breakfast has expanded into a full-day signature event—reflecting the growing importance of international real estate. The Global Experience is designed for REALTORS® who want to understand where the market is heading and how to stay competitive as transactions increasingly cross borders.
The day will feature high-value educational sessions and expert-led panels, paired with intentional networking opportunities that foster meaningful professional connections. Learn more and register here.
Education remains a cornerstone of global success. From March 18 through March 25, LIBOR will host the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation course. International transactions are significantly more complex than domestic deals, involving additional legal considerations, currency exchange issues, tax implications, and regulatory requirements. The CIPS designation equips REALTORS® with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage these moving parts effectively while positioning themselves as trusted global professionals. More information is available here.
LIBOR’s global leadership extends well beyond events and coursework. The association maintains active Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with 45 real estate associations worldwide, reflecting its strong commitment to international engagement. These partnerships provide members with expanded access to global education programs, market intelligence, licensing insights, and valuable professional relationships that enhance cultural understanding and collaboration across borders.
Members can also take advantage of LIBOR’s ““Going Global” webinars and international engagement opportunities, available at as well as a comprehensive resource page featuring global reports and market data.
For those ready to deepen their involvement, joining LIBOR’s Global Network provides access to a worldwide community of globally minded professionals, exclusive networking opportunities with international partners, and practical tools to help navigate cross-border transactions. From referral connections to cultural insights and updates on emerging markets, the Global Network empowers REALTORS® to think globally while serving clients locally and abroad.
